A water heater is a device that heats and stores water for domestic use, whereas a calorifier is a vessel that heats and stores water for heating systems. Calorifiers are commonly used in marine and industrial applications to provide hot water for heating purposes, while water heaters are used in homes and buildings to supply hot water for bathing and washing.

What is the difference between H2O and water?

There is no difference between H2O and water. H2O is the chemical formula for water, with each molecule consisting of two hydrogen atoms bonded to one oxygen atom.

Will salt water damage your water heater?

Yes, salt water can corrode and damage the components of a water heater, especially the metal parts. It is recommended to avoid using salt water in your water heater to prevent damage and maintain its longevity.

What is the purpose of a thermistor in a water heater?

A thermistor in a water heater is used to measure the temperature of the water. It helps regulate the heating element to ensure that the water is heated to the desired temperature without overheating. This allows for energy efficiency and prevents damage to the water heater.

Is there a difference between a 100C glass of water and a 200C glass of water?

Yes, there is a significant difference between a 100°C glass of water and a 200°C glass of water. At 100°C, water is at its boiling point and has turned into steam, while at 200°C, the water would be in vapor form and significantly hotter.

What does the anode in the water heater help?

The anode rod in a water heater helps prevent corrosion by attracting corrosive elements in the water, sacrificing itself instead of the tank. This helps extend the life of the water heater by protecting the tank from rust and corrosion. Regularly checking and replacing the anode rod as needed is important for maintaining the efficiency and longevity of the water heater.

What is the difference between a calorifier and a chlorifier?

A calorifier is a sealed tank, which heats water indirectly. Usually in the form of a heated coil which is immersed in the water. Commonly known as a hot water tank. A chlorifier is a water tank in which the water is heated via an external source.

What is the difference between a calorifier and a steam generator?

A calorifier is a device used to heat and store water for domestic or industrial use, typically utilizing a hot water system. A steam generator, on the other hand, is a machine that generates steam by heating water, commonly used in power plants and industrial processes. In summary, a calorifier heats and stores water, whereas a steam generator produces steam.

What is the purpose of a flow and return on a calorifier?

The flow and return on a calorifier are used to circulate hot water from a heat source into the calorifier and to return cooled water back to the heat source for reheating. This helps maintain a consistent supply of hot water and ensures efficient heating of water within the calorifier.

What is the difference between a power vented gas water heater and a standard gas water heater?

The difference between a mobile gas water heater and a standard gas water heater is that a MH unit will use an outside air intake for combustion. That is the most important difference.

What is the difference between a combi boiler and a multi-point water heater?

A combination boiler provide hot water to a central heating system whereas the multi-point water heater does not. The multi-point water heater provides hot water to multiple appliances or taps at the same time.

What is the difference between a water heater and a hot water heater?

Well hmm hard question hmm let me look at the question again (the difference??) well one heats water and the other one heats HOT water!!! no just kidding they are the same THING! either gas or electric but the same!A "hot water heater" is actually a booster to increase the heated water to a higher temperature

Where is the copper coil in hot water heaters?

A water heater that is a tank does not have copper coils. If gas fired, there is a burner at the bottom that heats the water in the tank the same way a tea kettle is heated on the stove. An electric heater has two heating elements in the side, top and bottom that heat the water. A tankless water heater has a coil with a flame in the middle that heats the water. This type heats the water as you use it and for as long as you want. An indirectly heated tank has a heat exchange coiled tube (calorifier) mounted inside the skin of the tank. Hot water or steam travels through the tube and radiates heat into the tank water.

How much does it cost to install a solar water heater?

The installation of a solar water heater will cost between $250-500.

What is the difference between Oil-filled vs water-filled space heaters?

I am assuming you mean an enclosed heater. Oil stay hot longer & does not rust.

Is a direct vent water heater as good as a standard vent water heater?

a direct vent water heater is more fuel efficient (cost's less to operate). aside from that there isn't much difference, aside from not needing a double wall flue through the roof on a standard gas water heater.
