The difference is the amount of hydrogen and oxygen
the difference is that ,the hydrogen ion
when base react with water it decomposes to give hydroxide OH negative and acids react with water to produce hydronium ion H3O positive.......
the obvious difference is that one has calcium, and the other magnesium.
No reaction.
phenolphthalein alkalinity is due to hydroxide n carbonate salts in water...nd total alkalinity is mainly due to bicarbonate salts in water..
Magnesium oxide will react with water to form Magnesium Hydroxide. Magnesium Hydroxide will not reat further with water
When oxides reacts with water, it will form hydroxides.
the difference is that ,the hydrogen ion
when base react with water it decomposes to give hydroxide OH negative and acids react with water to produce hydronium ion H3O positive.......
the obvious difference is that one has calcium, and the other magnesium.
NaOH(s) is solid and mostly pure sodium hydroxide. NaOH(aq) is sodium hydroxide dissolved in water.
No reaction.
Hydroxide ion is a water molecule without the nucleus of one of the hydrogen atoms.
There is no chemical reaction between water and calcium hydroxide. They simply form a mixtures commonly called limewater.
acid+ metal oxide --> salt + water
phenolphthalein alkalinity is due to hydroxide n carbonate salts in water...nd total alkalinity is mainly due to bicarbonate salts in water..
Ammonium hydroxide is a weak base with the formula NH4OH. It readily forms when ammonia is dissolved in water but it can only exist in aqueous solution. Trying to isolate it will cause it to revert back to ammonia and water. Potassium hydroxide is a strong base with the formula KOH. It will readily dissolve in water but can also exist in a pure state, which takes the form of a white solid under normal conditions.
