Exudates usually form when there is a disruption to a blood vessel, while transudates form from increased hydrostatic pressure with an intact vessel wall. The results are that the contents of each are different, mostly in terms of protein and cell content. See the related Wikipedia Web Links at left for more information.

transudate is non inflammatory fluid.exsudate is inflammatory fluid.

transudate contain less amount of protein where exudate is rich in protien.

specific gravity of transudate is 1.012.and in case of exsudate it is near about 1.020.transudate has no fibrinogrn.so threr is no formation of clot.bt in exsudate fibrinogen is present.
Transudate is associated with low content of proteins & cells but with high fluidity mostly occurs in inflammation examples are CHF,LIVER FAILURE.....etc..

Exudate is associated with localized disease with high proteins & cells but with less fluidity mostly occurs in when capillary pressure is high due to localized disease...such as vasculitis....etc
