Well, darling, a steam train uses steam to power its engine, while a coal train hauls coal as cargo. So, to put it simply, one chugs along with passengers or freight, and the other just hauls coal like it's nobody's business. Hope that clears things up for you, sugar.

Oh, dude, like, steam trains use steam to power their engines, while coal trains transport coal as cargo. So, the main difference is that one chugs along with puffs of steam, and the other just hauls coal from point A to point B. It's like comparing a spa day to a moving company - totally different vibes, man.

Steam trains are powered by steam generated by heating water with coal, while coal trains are used to transport coal as a commodity. Steam trains use the steam to drive pistons that power the locomotive, while coal trains are simply used to transport coal from mines to power plants or other destinations. In summary, steam trains are a type of locomotive powered by steam generated from coal, while coal trains are used for transporting coal as a cargo.

There isn't one coal is burnt in the train which heats the water turning it into stream which is pushed through a number of tight pipes building pressure to delivery drive to the wheels.

Answer 2

- A 'steam train' is a train which is being hauled by a steam powered engine.

- A coal train is a train carrying coal. It may be pulled by a steam engine, and so also be a 'steam train', but modern trains are usually hauled by diesel or electric locomotives, and will not be steam trains.

Why is coal no longer used in trains?

Coal is still used in many steam engines today. Coal is not used on diesel trains or electric trains simply because it is not fuel for them. Electric trains and diesel trains are the most common trains in use, and not trains capable of using coal, because they are more efficent and much less costly to maintain.

Was is coal use for?
