slip: the surface is wet or shiny and an object (or foot) cannot retain traction and goes forward in an uncontrolled manner.
trip: an obstacle usually not seen and at a low height causes the person to lose balance.
fall: both of the above will probably result in a fall. The person will go involuntarily from an upright stance to the ground, usually quite suddenly.
