In single plane method as it name itself imply, elevation of given point is determined by applying trigonometric principles to the observation obtained from the field in single plane (vertical plane) as such vertical angle(s) and known/ measurable distance between station points.
On the contrary in double plane method elevation is determined by making use of observation obtained from field in both Vertical as well as Horizontal plane such as vertical angles , horizontal angles and Known/measurable distance between station points.
