By 'single threaded' you really mean single start thread. So there is just one continuous thread running up the screw. Double start thread means that two threads start from the point and run up the screw entwined with each other. For the same thread spacing the double start will screw into the wood twice as quick but require more torque to drive it. Double or Twin start often used with power screwdrivers.
Screws are threaded to twist in when turned with a screwdriver. Nails are smooth to slide in straight when pounded with a hammer.

a drilling machine is used to drive nails and screws into position while boring tools are used to bore holes into wood
a cap screw has a top bigger than the threaded portion [a cap]. the cap screw does not sit flush with the material being screwed into. a machine screw has a tapered top that fits into a countersunk hole and when screwed in is flush with the surface being screwed into;
When using pressure treated wood you should look for a screw specifically rated for use in ACQ (pressure treated) lumber or use stainless steel.The greed coating may be an ACQ coating but you would have to check the package.You should NOT use zinc deck screws as the copper content in ACQ lumber will react with it causing the screws to corrode.

The main difference between 8 and 9 screws is their diameter. 8 screws are slightly smaller in diameter compared to 9 screws. This difference in size can affect the strength and holding power of the screws when used in various applications.
Divide the threaded length by the lead length. For single threaded screws the lead is the same as the pitch.

It is a round threaded disk shaped thing that screws into a tee or other "female" threaded fitting to " plug" it up.
For assembling furniture made of particle board, it is recommended to use coarse-threaded screws.
Drywall screws are threaded and provide a stronger hold compared to nails, which are smooth. Screws are more suitable for hanging drywall as they offer better support and are less likely to pop out over time.
There are usually several screws on a bicycle. The pedal axles are threaded so they are screws. The bar is clamped to the stem by screws. The stem is attached to the steerer tube via screws. screws hold the Wheels to the frame/fork etc.
the threaded holes are for removing the rotor. If the rotor does not come off with ease, a bolt of the same size can be inserted in and the rotor "pryed" off, using a socket set.

To install a threaded insert, first drill a hole in the material where you want to place the insert. Then, use a special tool called an insert driver to screw the insert into the hole until it is flush with the surface. This will create a strong and secure threaded connection for screws or bolts to be inserted.
