There is a total difference between the waltz and hip hop. In the waltz all you do is you move your feet. In hip hop you move your body fast as you can and you use all parts of your body such as... your hands, your legs (of course), your head, and much more.
I think that a waltz is different than a march because a waltz is a dance not something you march to like the soliders in the army .
Smooth includes waltz, foxtrot, tango and viennese waltz. Rhythm includes rumba, cha cha, east coast swing, bolero and mambo.
There are two divisions of International Dances. They are Standard and Latin. The Standard Dances are: Foxtrot, Waltz, Quickstep, Viennese Waltz, and Tango. The Latin dances are: Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble, and jive.
The tempo describes if a piece of music is played fast or slow or something in between. The rhythm determines what you do with a piece of music, do you waltz or march or what. You march to Stars and Stripes Forever. You waltz to the Blue Danube Waltz. You tango to a Tango.
Waltz music has 4/3 beats in a bar unlike classical which can have 2/4,3/4 or even 4/4. The waltz is classical music and it can be dances to with a partney only.
Ballroom dancing has four distinct styles... American style (danced mainly in the US) consists of "rhythm" which includes rumba, cha cha, east coast swing, bolero, and mambo. "Smooth" includes foxtrot, waltz, tango, and viennese waltz. International style (danced throughout the world) consists of "latin" which includes rumba, cha cha, jive, paso doble and samba. "Standard" includes waltz, foxtrot, tango, quickstep, and viennese waltz. There are different patterns and different techniques in the styles.
I'd say so. I do rhumba and its definitely one of the more slow romantic dances. However waltz is the most romantic i believe. Waltz is also easier. Rhumba is one of the easier dances, tango is a very romantic dance also.
Waltz, foxtrot, tango, rumba, samba, cha cha cha, quickstep, military two-step... Earlier ballroom dances included the minuet and the gavotte.
