Mediated communication forms are those where the person seems to be passive (i.e. listen/view/hear.) Thus, it includes television, radio, newspapers, etc.

But unmediated communication are those where the individuals are participating/active. The biggest example is social media ( facebook,twitter,instagram etc). The individuals can form alliances, post their images or update status, tell their state of mind, therefore, making it their own new technological world.
