In terms of Greek/Roman mythology, the main difference between a hero and a god is that the gods were immortal, whereas the heroes were not (though several heroes became gods later on, thus gaining immortality).

Heroes were often influenced by the gods, and usually completed a quest of some sort.

God is typically considered a supernatural or divine being with powers and characteristics beyond those of humans, often worshipped as a higher power. A hero, on the other hand, is a mortal individual who displays exceptional courage, strength, or moral virtue, often celebrated for their noble actions or achievements. Generally, gods are seen as transcendent and worshipped, while heroes are admired for their human qualities and deeds.

GURU AND GOD

The syllables guru stand for darkness and light , respectively, and the true meaning in the spiritual sense is a person who removes the darkness of ignorance, As the Advayataraka Upanishad says,

The syllable gu means shadows

The syllable ru, he who disperses them,

Because of the power to disperse darkness

the guru is thus named.

The GURU is the "LIGHT" that shows the Creator. GURU gives us the GYAAN required to "see" Him.

Guru is the person who gives us brain to work and study ...but the God is who gives us life, death and mentality......God is something we cannot touch but can feel inside our body but Guru is one we can feel and touch ...God is the spiritual power.......Guru is the guide.
