What is the difference between extinct or extant?

Endagered means almost gone nad extinct means they are gone forever.

ex animals that are endangered like the amur leapard are almost gone and are under pertection.

Dinasours are gone forever and therfore extinct

The adjectives are practically antonyms (opposites).

Extinct means no longer living, dead, extinguished. Extant means existing, present, surviving, e.g. an extant version of a document.

'Extinct in the wild' means there are still animals of the species alive in zoos and such. 'Extinct' means all of them are dead altogether.
