  • A double standard is where two different standards are applied to the same task or object based on some other criteria. EG: Expecting better cooking from a girl but both the boy and girl are asked to make the same thing
  • Standard room is usually the inexpensive room at a particular hotel.
  • A "double," in motel terminology, means there are two beds in a room.
