Denudation or degradation are process by which rock materials are removed from the earth this results in the general lowering in the earth's surface.

These materials then deposit in depression such as valleys,lakes and sea beds. This then fills up the depression and the level of the surface rises. this process is known as aggradation.

Together these two processes - degradation and aggradaton - are known as gradation
