There are two main classifications of culture medianamely defined and undefined. An undefined culture mediumcontains a basic source of aminoacids and nitrogen which are the essential requirements for growth of microorganisms. Common examples of the constituents are beef and yeast extracts. The exact composition and percentage of the individual amino acid or nitrogen providing source is unknown and this is used for basic culture and maintenance of strains. An undefined medium is also called a basal or complex medium. In addition to the aminoacid and nitrogen source it also contains a source for glucose, water and other essential salts.

A defined culture medium or synthetic medium is one that contains salts and a glucose source and other components based on the requirements of culture. It contains no yeast or animal extracts. Each of the components used are accurately weighed and the percentage known.

What is difference between 'infinity' and 'undefined'?

In mathematics infinity is a defined numeric quantity greater in magnitude than any finite numeric quantity, whereas undefined refers simply to something lacking a definition (e.g. the result of division by zero is undefined, not infinity). If you study set theory, you will find there are many different infinities some greater in magnitude than others. Infinity though defined is not a simple concept.

Is zero undefined?

Zero is pretty well defined. Division by zero is undefined.

What is the difference between a defined and an undefined term in Geometry?

The difference between defined and undefined terms is that the defined terms can be combined with each other and with undefined terms to define still more terms. These are undefined terms: 1.plane 2.point 3.line These are defined terms: 1.ray 2.union of sets 3.space 4.subset 5.set 6.proper subset 7.opposite rays 8.postulate 9.betweenness of points 10.bisector of a segment 11.midpoint of a segment 12.line segment 13.lenght of a segment 14.collinear points 15.complement of a set 16.coplanar points 17.disjoint sets 18.element 19.empy set 20.finite set 21.geometry 22.infinite set 23.intersection of sets

What is zero times undefined?

logically, if any number divided by 0 is undefined, than according to reverse operation, undefined times zero should be any number which would make it undefined. 0/1 x 1/0 = 0/0 which is undefined Also, "undefined" means it's undefined. If one of the factors is not defined, then you can't very well expect the product to be defined; now can you !
