Crocodiles and alligators look similar, but they belong to separate families of the order Crocodilia.
The easiest way to tell them apart is to look at their snouts. An alligator has a broad snout, and its upper jaw is wider than its lower jow. This gives the alligator an overbite--if you look at its snout while its mouth is closed, you will only see its upper teeth.
A crocodile has a narrower snout, and some of its lower teeth are visible when its mouth is closed, giving it that famous snaggle-toothed grin.

There isn't much of a color variation between alligators and crocodiles. The biggest difference between the two animals is the shape of their jaws and teeth placement.
crocks
The alligator has a more rounded snout, and few if any teeth protrude when the mouth is closed. Crocodiles are usually the more aggressive species.
One key difference is that alligators have a more U-shaped snout with only their upper teeth visible when their mouth is closed, while crocodiles have a more V-shaped snout with both upper and lower teeth showing. Additionally, alligators have a darker iris color compared to the lighter iris color of crocodiles.
crocks
No.
Alligators are close carnivorous cousins to the crocodile who is considerably larger and has a nastier aggressive nature. 'Gators' , in comparison, have elongated snouts and are generally green in color. 'Crocks' have broader heads (like cobras compared to their kin) and are generally brown in color. Both have been around for about 150 million years so they dined well on dinosaurs for nearly a hundred million years. One word of advice. Stay well clear of both. They can all run at about three times your best speed.
