trend
The trend of wearing bell-bottoms was a fad in the 1970s.
fad
Trend.
Fashion is something that is "in trend" at the moment and that majority of people in a certain age group are wearing, whereas a fad is something that is no longer "in style"; something that no-one wears anymore, that is out of its age.
What is the difference between a trend line and a line of best fit
Fad: A fashion that is taken up with great enthusiasm for a brief period of time; a craze. Trend: The general direction in which something tends to move. A fad is fleeting. Fads are generally here today gone tomorrow like hypercolour t-shirts, legwarmers, tamagotchi's and probably foam (all the posh restaurants were serving flavoured foam at some stage in 2008). A trend has staying power and generally lasts the decade it was concieved in. Ipod's are a trend as most people now own one and they have evolved into other industries such as sportswear, fitness centres etc. Businesses can generally make a lot of money if they recognise a trend over a fad.
Trend
A bad fad is a bad clothes trend, and a mad lad is a young boy who is angry.
trend or fad or something of that sort......
The word 'fad' means a fashionable trend or a temporarily popular item. There is also an acronym, FAD, that is used by veterinarians to stand for Flea Allergy Dermatitis.
A trend is a certain direction which something is changing. A pattern is where a repeat of a series or trend is seen over and over.
