It's not much of a difference hence the fact that folklore originates from within a culture.

Culture according to the English anthropologist Edward Tylor is: Everything complex including knowledge, beliefs, art, morals, rights, customs and any other habit and capacities acquired by man as a member of society."

Folklore is practically the way culture is expressed in a concrete population, including the traditions of a culture, subculture or a particular social group. Examples of folklores are stories, jokes, dance, music, art, oral history, etc.
