The lightening model is essentially the same as the regular superposed, with several weight saving modifications. These include slimmer forearm, lighter barrels, and small internal changes to the receiver. All in all, the weight savings are about a 1/2 pound. -jimmy

What is the value of a browning lightning serial 75536 and when was it manufatured?

While you do not state weather your Browning superposed lightning is a 12 gauge,or 20 gauge.I am going to assume that it is a 12 gauge. The serial number indicates that your shotgun was made in the year 1959.If your 12 gauge Browning shotgun has between 60%-90% of it,s original finish remaining and a good set of bores it will bring between 750-1,050 dollars. The same value applies if this shotgun is a trap model also.

your Browning superposed grade I lightning will bring between 750-1.300 dollars for a shotgun showing between 60%-90% of its original condition and a good set of bores. You may add 20-25% on top of the prices quoted if your shotgun has a round knob at the bottom of the pistol grip and a long tang stock variation(pre-1966 manufacture). The serial number that you provided, indicates that your superposed was made in the year 1937.

How many Browning Superposed shotguns were made in 28 gauge?

Only Browning knows and I don't think they will share that information. 25 Dec 08: According to page 482 of Ned Schwing's book "The Browning Superposed," there were 3,575 of the 28 gauge Superposeds made between 1959 and 1977, however the last 10 were special ordered in 1984.

What is the value of a lightning browning over and under shotgun with serial numbers between 49000 S6 and 50000 S6?

Superposed shotguns are very collectable when in top condition. Values have a wide range due to so many variations and grades of the Superposed and other Browning Over/Unders. Value is too difficult to be accurate without seeing the gun. Condition which includes the amount of original finish and original configuration will determine value. Recommend taking it to a gun shop for appraisal.

What can cause lightning?

Lightning is caused by the buildup of electrical charges in the atmosphere, typically during thunderstorms. When the charge difference between the clouds and the ground or between different parts of the cloud becomes large enough, it can result in a sudden discharge of electricity in the form of a lightning bolt.
