Ecological succession is the phenomenon or process by which an ecological community undergoes more or less orderly and predictable changes following disturbance or initial colonization of new habitat. While ecological backlash,involves the counter-responses of pest populations or other biotic factors in the environment that diminish the effectiveness of pest management tactics.
