They are produced from a different grape and in different regions of France. ________________________________________________________ Armagnac and Cognac are both brandies however, Cognac is usually the lighter of the two and tends to display more acidity than Armagnac. While Armagnac is usually deeper in color and has a fuller flavor. Both Armagnac and Cognac are named after the towns they are produced in. Each town has special growing conditions that gives each type of brandy a uniqueness which cannot be duplicated elsewhere. Cognac tends to be the more popular of the two in North America.

Wine is uncarbonated and champagne is carbonated. Technically champagne is sparkling wine from the Champagne district of France, all other "champagnes" are just sparkling wine. Champagne is like youth----full of spark ,exuberance and flamboyance. Wine is like old age----calm, quiet, slow on uptake. Wine is stronger since it is fermented longer than champagne.
