The company may not want a CV and insist that you use their application process. If that is the case, your CV will be summarily dismissed without consideration. It always is best to read a job ad very carefully to see the specific requirements for applying to the company offering the job.

It always anoyed me when people applying for a job did not follow the instructions in their application. I only remember one time spending any time on what they sent me.

A CV is similar to a resume which you write yourself. It is a summary of your work history, education, and experience especially as it relates to the position for which you are applying. An application is the form the company gives you to fill out when you express interest in working for them.

Does a CV matter a lot for grad school?

Recently I submitted my application to grad school. Then I looked at my CV again and found out that in one place I wrote US instead of U.S. (I used this form in other parts of my CV).
