What is the difference between Brahma and brahman?

1. Brahma is one of the seven basic gods of Hinduism. The seven basic gods are Indra, Shakti, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Shani and Yama.

Brahman is the supreme god of Hinduism and the the seven basic gods are supposed to originate from it.

2. Brahma is supposed to be the creator who has created the entire universe and all the living beings in it.

Brahman has the knowledge of the entire universe in it in a highly condensed form

3. Brahma is symbolic of the voluntary force. This is a small, transient and controllable force that works on reasoning and ideally suited to experiment anything new. Thus, Brahma force enables us to make small but reliable progress in our new life.

Brahman is symbolic of the involuntary force. This is a mighty, eternal and uncontrollable force that works on logic. We use this force to make our immaculate life eternal.

4. Brahma divides our devastated life into small, infinite and independent compartments, thus enabling us to salvage usable parts of our devastated life and discard unusable parts. It also enables us to have a new status based on very few activities.

Brahman merges all the activities into a single giant activity called life and automatically rectifies all the problems in our life.

5. Since Brahma (Voluntary) force looks at differences only it creates an illusion that we have very vast knowledge.

Brahman (Involuntary force) looks at similarities only and thus it gives us a feeling that our knowledge is minute.

6. Brahma makes our life independent of our status.

Brahman gives us a status determined by our average skill.

7. Brahma is not worshiped usually because it encourages us to lead a new, parallel, and often bad life independent of our regular life. This bad parallel life is symbolized by demons.

Brahman is usually not worshiped because it prevents us from taking undue advantages, takes away our ability to change and gives a very low status. Thus, Brahman is not a layman's god.

8. Among all the Hindu gods, Brahma gives the highest status because our status would be determined by our skill in just one activity.

Brahman gives us the lowest status because it determines our status by our average skill.

9. Brahma is the first god we worship when we restart our life after it is devastated completely after a catastrophe. Since voluntary force gives us the ability to change Brahma is our obvious choice.

Brahman is the last god we worship after our life has become almost perfect and there is no further scope for improvement. Brahman (involuntary) force automatically makes our almost perfect life immaculate and then takes away our ability to change.
