I read a book about slavery. I don't know much about it, but I know that the girl in the story had to take water to the fields for the men working there. And she had to worm the tomato plants, meaning she had to find every worm on the tomato plants and kill them with either her hands or her feet. In one part of the story, the overseer noticed that she hadn't killed all of the worms and made her eat those that she missed. She also had to bring food to the master of the plantation that they were on.

The daily life of a slave was filled with hard labor, typically from sunrise to sunset, under harsh and oppressive conditions. They had limited freedoms, faced physical punishment, and were often subjected to degrading treatment by their masters. Many slaves lived in crowded and unsanitary conditions, with little control over their own lives.
