In my experience, I've learned that buying pig ears raw is the best thing to tattoo on, the pig skin is much like our skin, it is great for learning on, although these may be hard to find, i was looking for them everywhere when I was tattooing, I actually found them at a local shop rite after calling almost every butcher in town, one of the butchers I did call could get them for me but it was going to take a while, and I wanted to start tattooing right away I tried practice skins, and they were ok with Vaseline, but the ears are the best for any novice tatooer I'd highly recommend them, a little known place is shop rite, if u don't have a shop rite look at ur local grocer if not call a butcher and wait for them it's worth it, cause I think their great to practice on!
A good practice is cutting an orange or grapefruit in half and tattooing the skin of it. Then flip it over and see if you nailed the skin right, because that would represent the epidermus!

I would not recommend riding the tube, you can't see what your doing and its messy. Get the tube back and watch your needle depth, remember it only needs to go to the dermis not the bone, practice practice practice before you go near real skin
no. the best other alternative is practice
