Lean meat, lots of veggies that are high in fiber to keep them feeling full longer. If I had an obese teenager, I would get them involved in something they are interested in so they can feel like there is an area of their life they have control over. If they like to draw, get them enrolled in an art class, if they like to sing, get them involved in a school or church choir or get them singing lessons. If they like sports get them involved in something. It is important to their self esteem. It also helps to shift the focus on their weight to something they really like and enjoy in their lives. It will keep them busy and keep their mind off food as well as getting them to meet new people and make new friends. Give them something they can feel empowered about. Karate would be a great activity. Don't let them give up.
