I bought one of these rifles from my Dad almost 40 years ago and still own it. He had traded somebody for it in the early 1940's but didn't have any other info about it. I ran across a gunsmith one time who had one sitting in his shop that belonged to his wife. He told me they were sold through the Sears & Roebuck catalog around 1901. I've searched gun books for years, but haven't found any information other than what he told me. Mine is still in good shape with the exception of the buttplate that I broke when I was a kid. It shoots as good today as it did the first day I bought it.
