Rifle Model 71, serial 26954 was built in 1948. Value as stated probably in the $600 to $800 range. The side mount scope mount destroys the collector value of any original rifle, as do other non factory additions. There were deluxe versions which included checkering and pistol grip caps, and standard versions which had neither. Pre WWII models command an extra premium. Had the rifle not been drilled and tapped for the side scope mount it would have been in the $2000 to $2600 range depending on configuration. There were no special order options available for this model other than the Deluxe/Standard versions, and an optional bolt peep sight.
See if this is what you have. If so, it's a model 1885, made in 1919. (106)- Winchester 1885 Low Wall Rifle, cal. .25-20 SS, 28" barrel, Blue/Brown finish, Bore Good cond. (with some pitting and frosting), holes drilled into buttstock and forestock (probably for sling swivels), two small cracks near base of tang and stock comb, VG condition. $ 1400.00 Can + shipping. Depening on condition and completeness, (mag parts, sights, sling swivels, etc) anywhere from $100 to $250 for an excellent condition. Very good target rifles.
Depends on condition and completeness (sights, sling swivels, etc) Anywhere from $100-$250. There are a number of us that collect older Mossbergs.
There are a handful of stores that sells swivels in the Saskatchewan area. One of the most popular stores that sells swivels is "Saskatoon", located at 1714 Perston Avenue, N Saskatoon.
$150-$200, depending on condition and completeness (sight, sling swivels, etc are frequently missing) GREAT target rifles.

1967 to 1970 regular and deluxe model with swivels for strap. I went to a gun store in Lomira,Wi. today and a salesperson looked it up in their version of the blue book. Hello I called Winchester today because I just purchased a model 255 lever action at a garage sale and Winchester will send you a copy of the original owners manual for free. The guy looked in their book and the 255 was introduced in 1964 and the last year of production was 1970.

Depends on condition and completeness. The rifle had 3 sights- front, rear barrel, rear receiver, and Mossberg quick detach sling swivels. If sights or swivels are missing, they are expensive to replace. Well worn specimen $100, excellent complete specimen $250-$300. Active collector interest in Mossberg 22s from this period. (Nice rifles- have 2 of them)
The value will be between 600-2,500 dollars depending on if you have a standard model,or a deluxe model(checkered wood, sling swivels, and bolt peep sight). The more original finish on your Winchester will bring the value up also.
I dont remember if I used different rachet swivels or if I took off the valve cover, one of the two try the swivels first
Not at all and who asks this kind of qquestion is dis????
