Celebrities are those human beings whom are "celebrated" for their contributions to society, their talent in a given field, their ability to change the perception of others through their work or ideas, the profundity of and dissemination of such information. Do pop culture entertainers fit this description? Certainly. Idol, in fact, is more appropriate when referring to entertainers (whose own ideas and individuality often remain obscured by high-living, behavioral chaos, and, seemingly, a variety of emotions resultant of over-exposure). Idols are objects of worship, and also people who are worshiped or held in high esteem by idolaters (fans, short for "fanatic"). Idols are people admired or adored for their ability to perform, their charisma, their wealth, and their fantastic lifestyle.
