Which a single shot mississippi, split breach, vest, double derringer (model 95), caliber, variation? I'm suspecting your talking a double derringer 41 rimfire but that's likely not even a serial but a batch number. There's over a dozen variations with a HUGE range in value and even that's greatly dependent on condition.
We need a make of derringer.
Your HY-Hunter OU derringer was imported from West Germany by HY-Hunter Inc.Located in Hollywood CA.These derringers will bring between 100-175 dollars depending on caliber and overall condition.
There is a Blue Book of Handguns that should give you a start. But the "value" depends a great deal on the condition the piece is in.What is the serial number? Is it in the original box? There is an American Derringer website and you can probably float queries around e-bay and amazon-ville to get a clearer direction.Good luck, doc
I bought one this afternoon at a gun shop for $39. Not great condition, but a bit of a novelty.
I bought a "Dikar 45 cal black powder only " belt pistol today for $8.00 at a yard sale, What a deal!!!
Yes. The McCoys, including Rick Zehringer, (better known as Rick Derringer), had a number one hit with the song in 1965.
No public database- sorry.
I was told by a gun collector that a five digit number on an imported derringer is not a serial number- it is a lot number ( a serial number should be at least 6 digits) what about the proof markings on the gun? can this identify the company or date or just the country of origin?
