Both calibers have alot power but the 7mm is more powerful due to the fact that the bullets of the 7mm are in a higher grain than the .308. The 7mm also has a much higher recoil than the 308 and even the 30-06, both calibers have a high standard of performance but its no question the 7mm remington is more powerful
The .308 has a larger DIAMETER bullet, being 7.62 mm (versus 7mm) However, SOME 7mm cartridges may be longer than the .308, such as the 7mm Magnum.
The cartridge known as the 7mm-08 was derived from the .308 Win (7.62x51mm). The casing mouth is necked down from the original 7.62mm (.308") to 7mm (roughly .280").
7mm, yo.
"Better" is a subjective term. Without more information, neither is "better"
No.
Define 7mm. Do you mean 7mm Mauser ( a little less than 30-06), or 7mm Magnum, (a bit more than 30-06)
It's basically .308 in diameter, however that does not mean it is the same as what is called .308. .308 is 7.62x51mm and is much more powerful.
a 30-06 is longer range than a 308 and is more powerful and there awsomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Depends on the load
Depends on which .300 cartridge you had in mind... for default, we'll go with .300 Winchester Magnum, which is basically a .308 with a longer casing (67mm vs. 51mm). The .300 WM is the more powerful of the two.
Case length and bullet diameter. The 7mm Rem Mag uses a smaller diameter bullet (.284 vs .308) at higher velocity with higher pressures and more gun powder capacity.
