A metrosexual is a term that describes a heterosexual man that has gay qualities. The stereotypical gay man that is often portrayed is stylish and vain, he gets tanned, gets massages, gets his nails and eyebrows done, gets his hair dyed and highlighted, he knows all the best salons and best restaurants, he wears the best labels and clothes, he knows the best hip/chic expensive stores, he knows his wine, he knows his art galleries and clubs, he can decorate a house, he knows how to treat his friends that are girls, and he's often portrayed as being somewhat wimpy. Contrasted with the stereotypical straight man that is often portrayed as being idiots when dealing with girls and their emotions, he is often insensitive, messy, inattentive, drinks beer, hangs out with crude men, and a manly man that will not partake in perceived "wimpy or gay" activities. A metrosexual is a hetersexual man that breaks these stereotypes and takes on the homosexual stereotypes, think of metrosexuals as "straight gay men." Lastly, it is important to note that some define metrosexual as being males of any sexuality, but most of the time it refers to a heterosexual man.
