Never been in romantic love, but with my limited faculty I feel if a girl likes a guy, and they both lock eyes, now she is praising another guy, he could be any friend, now why is "locking eyes" a competition between the two baffles me. One can lock eyes with so many people, but it doesn't mean anything. Liking springs from unknown connections felt between two people, when there is reverence and love, so "locking eyes" concept sounds weird to me.
