breast wall
A construction joint is required to allow the structure to be built. Say there is an existing structure in the way of a wall. Part of the wall is built, then later the existing bit is removed, and the rest of the wall constructed. The place where the first and second parts of the wall meet is a construction joint. This kind of joint is usually built so that no movement is allowed. An expansion joint is one that allows movement between the two elements. There will be a comparitely soft material, such as rubber, asphalt or impregnated board placed between the parts. The latest innovation has lead to use non bituminous filler boards like polymer based HD100 board. It is also known as micro cellular filler boards. (More details about filler boards you have to visit hd100.in or kampun.com from there in-depth product knowledge available.) If it is concrete construction, any reinforcing bars will be arranged to allow movement. In most cases, if movement was prevented, the structure would crack or buckle. The joint allows controlled movement.
If the wall is subjected to shear forces due to horizontal loading, it becomes a shear wall whether it is a masonry or a concrete wall.
Frame a wall next to the block wall to run your pipes in. You might even consider bringing the wall out away from the Block wall if you are not tight on footage.
It could be 65" (b wall - 5.5" wall thickness), or 66.5" (c wall - 6.25" wall thickness).

Offa's Dyke. (Yes, really, the word 'dyke' meaan 'ditch' or 'wall' in this context.)
The bund wall needs to be high enough to contain the volume of the largest tank within its boundaries, plus precipitation and firefighting water. The distance of the wall from the tank needs to be far enough so that waves deflecting of the tank side are not allowed to cross over the top of the bund wall. There is no codified or fixed distance that I'm aware of, but potential waves should be taken in to account with your design.
Bunding means surrounding something, for example an oil tank, with a bund wall. If the tank ruptures the bund wall contains the oil. Bunded tanks are often required before insurance will be offered on the tanks.
It's called offa's dyke. Like that wall between Scotland and England (Hadrian's Wall) but smaller and less well known. Go to Chepstow, you can see some remains of it there.
A dam is a barrier built across a waterway to stop or control the flow of water. Man-made reservoirs are formed behind the dams. A dyke is a long wall of earth built along a waterway or along a sea coast to prevent the river water overflowing their channels. *A levee is the same thing as a dyke the difference being that the former word comes from French and the latter from Dutch.
how can I tell the difference between acrylic and oil paint on my wall?
The potential difference between the two holes in a standard wall socket in the US is 120 volts.
You call those things a "Dyke" and in dutch "dijk"
a bailey is purple and made out of stone and a wall is hard.
