SS 409M is a modified version of SS409. This has 1.5% Ni and a little bit of Titanium in it to impart excellent wear resistance. There are several versions of SS409M popular around the world. Originally designed by Columbus Stainless as 3Cr12. The closest grade in European EN standard is 1.4003 and in India it is popular as SS409M.

This finds applications in various corrosive wear lining applications across the industries.
