This is a personal guess as so many aspects of the two cultures have been adopted by the "alien" culture, that it is sometime hard to distinguish.

And in the main I can only give culinary examples (at least those are the only ones that come to mind at the moment).

So far as I know, Indian cuisine has never embraced the soup as a starter to a meal, so when the British began demanding soup of their Indian servants, the cook in the kitchen had to come up with something. It is rumoured that Mulligatawny Soup came into being this way.

There are numerous other examples such as putting milk in tea. More recent examples with 2nd generation Asians brought up in Britain has been the creation of Tikka (which does not have sauce in it's original form) Masala, and Balti. I think these things came from Glasgow & Birmingham respectively.

I'm not sure how you go about researching something like this nor how you'd go about it but it could be quite interesting.
