North Korea is a isolated country run by a paranoid and oppressive dictator, Kim Jong-il, who will not create close foreign relations with anyone except China and Russia. If North Korea obtained nuclear weapons, then there would be no way to liberate the people that are trapped inside the carefully watched border. Any attempt at liberation would likely result in a war, possibly leading to the use of nuclear weapons (North Korea being the first to fire any nuclear arms). The lack of information that flows out of (and into) North Korea leaves much speculation on their motives of obtaining nuclear technology and nothing can be considered completely conclusive without solid evidence or testimony.
