What is a iPod touch soft card or blue application card NOT an apple itunes gift card PLEASE HELP?

I just received my iPod Touch from QVC and it came with an 11 piece accessory kit. Included with the Screen Protectors is a "soft card". The manual states " The soft card helps you put the screen protectors on easily". I didn't know what the heck it was for either until I saw it in the manual.
