"It takes one to know one" is a not-so-subtle put-down which attempts to use superiority and shaming to silence a person.
I'm not great in the comeback arena, but one example might be: "I guess you have personal experience to say that."
However, many psychologists believe that grade school and high school taunts are best dealt with by ignoring the person.
Some psychologists think that it helps to acknowlege any part that might be true, which takes the sting out of put-downs. No one can hurt you when you are upfront about a common problem. For example, many people get nervous speaking in front of the class. Often, it helps simply to acknowledge, "Sure I'm nervous."
That was a pretty good one, for anidiot (or half-ass)
Demi Lovato did make the biggest comeback that I know of. No one actually knows.
first one to rhyme did the crime.
A good classy comeback for a girl is "that is why there is only one me".
it's bigger than your mums There's only one way you'd know that. Didn't need to hear about your fantasies.
Yes they will comeback.
As the Buddhist said to the deli owner; "Make me one with everything."
"so has your mum" is a good one,, but another one is, "well you have gone bright blue!"
Go back is to go to a place for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc., time. A Comeback is the response to an insult. Insult: Your dumb! Comeback: Takes one to know one, poindexter!
You could say: "And I'm the dumb one? Have you CHECKED lately?! I don't think so."
