Yes and no. Read on... The FNP-9, is the most recent development
of the FN Herstal. It was first announced in 2003. The basic design
can be had in two versions. The Law Enforcement / Military version
is marketed as FNP-9, and has a matte black finish. The Civilian
version is marketed as the Browning PRO-9, and has a bead-blasted
stainless steel finish on the slide. European market guns are made
in Herstal, Belgium. U.S. market guns are made in an FN plant
located in Columbia, SC by FN Manufacturing Inc, asubsidiary of FN
Herstal. This inclueds the PRO-40.
