When referring to subwoofer enclosures, ported and vented are the same thing, as opposed to a sealed box.
Sealed boxes are said to provide a harder "hit" and better sound quality but may not sound as loud as a ported box. Neither type of box is particularly "better" than the other, so the choice is between SQ (sound quality) of a sealed box vs. the louder but slightly poorer sound of a ported box. Hope this helps!

To get the best quality out of a subwoofer is to check the RMS power rating on the sub and make sure that the amp is sending that power out in that power range. if not enough power is going to the sub it will not perform to its fullest but if too much power is going to the sub it will not sound good and possibly blow the sub. and also the type of box the sub is in effects how good it sounds. a sealed box will give you a longer range of sound while a ported or vented box will give you more bass. On the far left and far right of the dashboard there are 2 vented compartments that pop out. Your speakers are located here. Take these off, unscrew the old speakers, disconnect speaker wires, and remove speakers. To install new speakers, do the same steps, just in reverse.
the cd walkman was in vented in 10,00- bc it is better then the i pod touch 5G
a vented battery is vented and the regular battery is regular
they help stop a bit better then unvented disc brakes therefore higher performance cars need vented brakes to stop faster where as some cars put them on just because they look better then unvented brakes.
Using a vented air conditioner in a small room helps to efficiently cool the space by removing hot air and humidity through a vent. This can result in better air circulation, improved comfort, and energy savings compared to non-vented units.
A vented gas cap vents the gas fumes into the atmosphere. A non-vented cap system routes the fumes thru the engine to be burned.

In the battery is located in the cabin or in the trunk it must be vented. If it is located under the hood is does not have to be vented.
Depends on what kind of subs your getting because for your subs to sound properly and give you the best bass, there needs to be sufficient enough space behind the sub to allow the sub to displace air and thus create BASS!!.. The amount of space you need depends on what size of sub you have.. For example you need more space for a 12 inch sub then you do for a 10 inch sub.. Just look up specs for your subwoofer on google and you will see how much mounting depth it needs and buy a box that allows that space
Vented.
