Usually this shotgun will sell for $100 -$150 depending on condition and location. The 550B utilizes a single action bar as oppossed to the double action bars that are standard on all Mossberg pump shotguns since sometime in the mid 1980s, I believe. This feature make the older style guns useful, but much less desirable. The 16 gauge is in the same category; useful but much less desirable.
The cost of a brand new Mossberg 16 gauge 190 K A is $125. A pre-owned unit usually ranges around $55 to $75 depending on its condition.
The 190 was made from 1950-1955 and only in 16 gauge.

Mossberg added the M-5500 model to their line in 1983. However, it was quickly taken off the market and was completely out of production by 1986. Supposedly it was a variant of Mossberg's M-500. The 5500 was designed for sporting and was relatively small (not suitable for combat). Mossberg later came out with a stockless version for self defense and for use in law enforcement called the Cruiser and a military combat model known as the Guardian. It is important to note that Mossberg's 5500 was a 12 gauge, not a 16 gauge shotgun.
$75-125, depending on condition. These were utility grade shooters- good, durable, reliable guns, but no major collector interest. I keep a couple of the 20 g Mossberg bolt guns to loan to my grandsons when they hunt with me. Good guns.
You have not asked a question yet. Yes, there were 16 g bolt action shotguns. Mossberg ,ade them, as well as other makers.
