Blaxploitation is a film genre from the 1970s that are considered to have exploited the black actors and actresses in them, and exaggerate black culture through larger than life characters, situations, and actions. The 1971 movie Shaft is an excellent example of a Blaxploitation movie, as is the 1971 Omega Man, which was remade as I Am Legend.
This movie genre was later lampooned in comedy movies including the 1988 I'm Gonna Git You Sucka and on TV shows like MadTV with the Son of Dolomite sketches (featuring comedian Aries Spears).
