What if someone has a really bad haircut and you don't like it but you want to be nice and tell them it looks good?

Well this happened to me a few days ago. One of my piers got a new haircut and it is kind of short for me and i didn't know what to do. She asked me if i liked it and i didn't want to lie so I told her that I needed to go. (It was on the phone) I thought about it that night and when i got to school the next morning, i actually noticed that it looked really cute on her.I told her it looked good and so that boosted her confidence way up. If this happens to you, but you never end up liking it then, you can either make them feel great but you would be lying, tell them it looks bad and you would be telling the truth and hurting his/her fellings or you could tell them it looks cool or neat or something like that because it really wouldn't be lying and they would probably think of it as a compliment and say "Thanks".
