Trust me, ask him out. :D Boys are usually too shy to do it unless they are REALLY desperate. I see this is sort of a secretive situation where you have trouble actually getting together.
Ask him out and you will be fine :)

It's every boy's dream to be asked out by a girl they like. They are sometimes not so keen on asking people out that like them when he likes her as well.
