well, it is advisable. Although, i got my tongue pierced 4 days ago, i just rinse with water after i eat or drink, and use non alcohol mouthwas when i wake up, in the middle of the day and before bed. if you have mouthwash with alcohol, put a glass of water half full and mix in the mouthwash. ice chips in the water will help alot. x

No, alcohol prep pads that don't say numbing, do not numb when getting pierced or tattooed. You can request to be numbed before a piercing or tattoo with numbing cream, or numbing alcohol prep pads.

Continued use of alcohol will interfere with the body's ability to form new skin, which is the goal of the healing process after piercing.
How do you keep your pierced toungue from getting infected?
Brush your teeth and use alcohol-free mouth wash after everything you eat & drink (except water). You could use mouthwash with the alcohol in it, but I found it irritates the piercing. Don't play with the jewelery too much because that will irritate it as well. Also, don't share drinks or food with other people, and don't smoke! Your tongue is a bad place to get an infection so make sure you follow those rules!

it does hurt if you get your cartilage pierced. It will continue to hurt for about two the four weeks after you get it pierced.

It depends on what part of the ear you are getting pierced. Having your love pierced often is completely painless, whereas having cartilage pierced hurts a lot more than a novocaine shot for most people.
