refined sugar is an artificial food - we dont need it to survive. people that have been stranded on islands have gone through sugar withdrawl - lasting days or even weeks. they get extremely tired (sleepy) and some go into an almost comatose state. this will stop when your system balances out. most whole foods have enoughs sugars in then to supply nutritious amounts.

When you dont eat sugar your body goes into ketosis...When this happens your body changes functions to stay healthy, it starts breaking down fat for energy instead of sugar. This is only good if you are looking to lose weight in a short amount of time.
