refined sugar is an artificial food - we dont need it to survive. people that have been stranded on islands have gone through sugar withdrawl - lasting days or even weeks. they get extremely tired (sleepy) and some go into an almost comatose state. this will stop when your system balances out. most whole foods have enoughs sugars in then to supply nutritious amounts.
