A lot of people have erroneously begun to associate this symbol with bikers and choppers thanks to Jesse James, but this is a design that was used in both the Prussian and the German military as a medal that one would be presented with for various honors be it valor or another notable act. It started out as a harmless medal (just as the swastika was for THOUSANDS of years a symbol of peace and love, and still is in countries such as India, China, parts of Africa and the Middle East, and is still used amongst Native Americans) this is a symbol that was stolen and perverted by Adolph Hitler whom pretty much irreparably distorted it's meaning, and now it stands for nothing other than white power regardless as to whether or not the person wearing it knows this fact. Due to it having been forever associated with the Nazi's, the German military no longer even presents this as a medal, and they in fact they have completely done away with it. It had died off almost completely outside of the white power world till Jesse James came out calling it a "Maltese Cross", which looks COMPLETELY different than an iron cross. The iron cross is used in the outlaw motorcycle world due to the fact that a lot of hardcore bikers are racist, which is just plain true and not a slight on all bikers. This is not to say that I think that Jesse James is racist, but the meaning of this symbol in the motorcycle world is the same as in the rest of the world.
