"Bae" is the term being used on the internet to mean "babe". It exists because of a typo in a viral image which showed a woman taking a picture of herself claiming to be with her boyfriend with the caption "with my bae" (a typo on "babe"). However in the mirror behind her, you could see she was alone and wasn't with anyone at all.

The woman was ridiculed online for both her false image and her spelling. Using the word "bae" implies low education.

Bae is actually the Danish profane word for "faeces/poop".

So when people say "I love my bae" they are actually confessing to liking their faeces, not their significant other as they think.
