delete everything and restore settings to factory settings
It restores all the defaults that come with the ipod. i.e.: the security settings , background... etc.
You can either attach the iPod to a computer with iTunes installed to restore the device to factory settings. Alternatively, look for 'Settings' on the iPod screen, then find the 'Reset' menu in the 'General' menu on the device. When clicked, you will see 'Erase All Content and Settings' at the top. This will reset the iPod default settings.
Everything on your iPod will be gone.. BUT if you leave the music on itunes you can re sync and it will return to your IPOD :D

You may have to restore your factory settings through iTunes. Plug in your iPod and wait for it to load. Then, in the screen that shows up, choose "restore factory settings". This will erase your songs then reload them afterwards.DON'T UNPLUG YOUR IPOD! This'll cause major trouble. Just let the program run.
Plug it into iTunes, and once the iPod's menu shows up in the iTunes sidebar, then click on that. There is a 'Restore' button, which wipes out all memory on the iPod and resets it to factory settings.
