The mark looks like a fairly thin line running from the outside of the lip toward the inside. It may not encompass the entire space, but instead look a lot shorter and not exactly reach either end. In any case, it should look like a thin vertical line, whether it is short or long.
The color would be about the same as any burn on the lip. Maybe ashy colored or more red or pink. If it was a bad burn, it will appear more white.
